measuring yardstick capacity
having resurrected terrapins
while cheetahs attempt
to fend for themselves
in the Serengeti

cubs being bedded with unsteady legs
preening with pleasure
distended bellies

hoofs flailing in the air
wide nostrils flairing
inbred in the labs

opposed by ranchers scraggly black hair
black-faced impalas
having every right to be there

lit out and pinned down
raised as captives
peering over adaptive
black reading glasses
frequently clashing
with a red mustache...
